What’s this about a church?

We may think a church is…

about a building or an organization.

Buildings can be important to create a space for people to meet. Organizations help people to work well together. These things are good, and churches need them, but they aren’t a church.

A church is actually…

a community of people who are intentional about following Jesus Christ together. North Gate Church is a community of people encouraging one another and helping one another to follow Jesus Christ.

Everyone who is a part of North Gate Church has a backpack of gifts, talents, and skills that God gave them for the building up of one another. As God designed it, we need each other for the journey of life toward Christ.

Whether we meet at a home, on the beach, or anywhere in between, we are the church! We are running toward Christ. We are running toward True North!

We are a part of North Gate Church because it has become a place where we can truly grow in our faith and be part of something bigger than ourselves. From the very beginning, we felt welcomed and cared for, not just as visitors but as people who belonged. The church isn’t just a place we attend on Sundays, it’s a community of people who are walking together, encouraging one another, and pursuing God in a real and authentic way.

What keeps us here is the way North Gate Church balances deep biblical teaching with a genuine love for people. Every message challenges us to grow spiritually, while the relationships we've built remind us that we don’t have to do life alone. We've found opportunities to serve, to use our gifts, and to make a difference, which has been humbling and fulfilling.

Most of all, we value how North Gate Church helps us stay grounded in our faith while also equipping us to live it out in everyday life. It’s a place where we're encouraged and stretched, and where we feel God working in and through us. That’s why we're proud to call it our church home.
